Government Opportunities (GO)Viglen, the British IT company, has once again been accredited for inclusion on the Essex Online Partnership (EOLP) Framework, covering 16 council organisations working together on ICT projects across Essex.

For the first time, the framework is being run in collaboration with the NHS London Procurement Partnership (LPP) which has boosted the number of organisations involved to 64.

As a prime contractor for information systems hardware and associated services, Viglen has partnered with Toshiba for laptops and Hitachi Data Systems for storage solutions.

The framework contract runs for the next four years, until November 2017, and is for the supply of an estimated 100,000 devices in total. It enables member public sector organisations to access an online catalogue of products from suppliers awarded a place on the framework to make procurement simple, efficient and compliant with EU procurement regulations.

Formed in 2002, the Essex Online Partnership (EOLP) supports the development of integrated and accessible local services to Essex residents and businesses.  Consisting of local district, borough and unitary councils, Essex County Council, Essex Police and Essex County Fire Services, the framework is focussed on providing a reliable and secure infrastructure to enable joint service delivery, as well as providing advice and guidance to partners on implementing their e-government programmes.

LPP is a membership organisation, founded and funded by NHS organisations and saved the NHS £540m in its first six years.  It supports the NHS to make the most of its purchasing power to maximise investment in patient care – helping deliver the highest quality services while ensuring value for money.

Chief Executive Bordan Tkachuk said: “It’s great to hear that we have retained our place on the EOLP Framework, which we have been involved in since 2009. I know that this joint procurement initiative has already benefited councils by allowing them to negotiate exceptional pricing for market leading products. Our inclusion once again demonstrates the strength of our quality and cost efficient offering to the public sector.

“With the involvement of LPP we now have the opportunity to work with NHS organisations too. Now, more than ever before, it is vital that every NHS penny is spent wisely to retain, redesign and improve health care services.”
